1. Describe an argument you were involved in where things went downhill.Please don't reveal the identity of the other person, and only reveal as much of the argument as you are comfortable sharing. The important thing is that you give the reader a sense of the tone of the argument, and describe it in enough detail that the reader can understand what was going on.
2. Use Goleman's chapter on Intimate Enemies, theThis American Lifeaudio excerpt, and the "Lecture" on Practicing Emotional Intelligence to explain how (and why) the argument could have been more skilfully conducted (on both sides).
