The model minority myth presents Asian-Americans as a sophisticated, polite, and law-abiding group who are comparatively more successful than the rest of the population due to the combination of innate talent. The model minority myth proclaims that all Asians are successful, which is not accepted equally by all the sections of society. The myth is considered problematic as it supports and influences the racism prevailing in the community. This stereotypical myth is creating huge issues for the community and especially for the Asian-American people who are experiencing certain problems including unemployment and discrimination due to this prevailing myth about them (Naidoo, 2017).
