These statement “Even though many people think that teen sexuality is all about getting pregnant and contracting STD’s, their sexuality is not always about the physical aspect but it’s more about who they are and how they portray themselves.” For my topic there is a lot of information that argues how teens having sex is bad and they should be kept cooped up because of all the diseases so I think this would be a good counterargument. I plan to support my topic with good arguments about how sexuality can help them discover who they are and help them have a better education, and also better understanding of the world when they get older.

Many teens participate in oral sex because they think it is better than doing the real thing. But because of the rising popularity of this sexual behavior there is claim to be a widespread epidemic in middle schools and it has alarmed the public abruptly. Because the numbers have increased slightly since the 1992 survey, from 27 % grade nine males to 32 % in 2002, which participate in oral sex, we can speculate that is not as serious as an “epidemic” after all. Transgender teens believe that they are the opposite sex, either male to female or female to male. Its not always about just the sexual aspect of it, it is about how they portray there selves and who they want to be on the inside. Transgender teens feel they were supposed to be born to match there brain and not there body. (Rochman, 2008) Rochman, S. (2008, Feb). Transgender Teens. Human Sexuality Supplement, 1- 4.Retrieved Nov 14, 2008, from EBSCOhost database. I like to take what I think is important out of the article or book and write summaries on paper and then link it together to make sense. How do you determine whether to quote, paraphrase, or summarize a source? I read each article then I picked which seemed easiest to read and understand than I paraphrased it because I think paraphrasing is harder for me. So to paraphrase something easy to read would be better. Then I took the hardest out of the three to understand and took a quote out of it, because quoting is easier. For summarizing, I used the one article that was left, which was not to easy but not to hard to understand and summarized it. COM 220 Annotated Bibliography ABOUT.COM. (2008) Teenage Sexuality. Retrieved Nov. 14, 2008 from http://www.about.com The website has information about teenage sexuality. The website is about how to talk to your teens about sex and what happens to them during the process of puberty and to also try to get an understanding of there feelings. I thought it was interesting information and it gave a lot of details on how to talk to your teens about the birds and the bees but it wasn’t cited so I can’t use unreliable information. AMA Alliance. (2008) Facts from the Alliance Teen Sexuality. Retrieved Nov. 14, 2008 from http://www.amaalliance.org The website gives statistics about teens having sex. I think the information in the website is going to be really important in my paper because then I can give a really good look at how many teens are actually having sex and the increase over the years. This article is the only one that has credible statistics. Ashcraft, C. (2008, Sept). So Much More than “Sex Ed”: Teen Sexuality… American Educational Research Journal, 631-667. The author of this article is research scientist and a member of National Center for Women, she is also accomplished in many others areas. McKay, A. (2004, fall). Oral Sex among Teenagers: Research, discourse and Education. The Canadian Journal of Human Sexuality, 201. Retrieved Nov. 14, 2008 from ProQuest database. This article ventures into why teens participate in oral sex. Some teens think it is better than having sex because they are not actually “doing it”. Teens also think that if they don’t actually have sex it will protect them from STDs. This information is very useful because is discusses the different aspects of sexuality not just meaning sex. Rochman, S. (2008, Feb). Transgender Teens. Human Sexuality Supplement, 1-4. Retrieved Nov 14, 2008, from EBSCOhost database. This article discusses what teens go through being a transgender teen and what feelings they experience. It also talks about the emotional rollercoaster that they have to go through to get from male to female or female to male. It will help me give everyone a better understanding of the transgender sexuality in teens, instead of the stereotypes that TV or movies portray. The author of this article is an advocate of transgender, gay lesbian and many other groups’ rights. What must you do to convert the annotated bibliography to an APA-formatted reference page, due in Week Seven as part of your rough draft? Well its basically done already I just need to take the citations and put them on a blank page in alphabetical order with the title of Reference. Western International University Material Axia College Material Appendix D Strategies for Gathering Information Source (Formatted using APA style guidelines) What makes the source credible or not credible? What information can you gather from this source? Rochman, S. (2008, Feb). Transgender Teens. Human Sexuality Supplement ,1-4. Retrieved Nov 14, 2008, from EBSCOhost database. The author is an advocate for many different groups but I noticed a lot for gay, lesbian and transgender rights. I think the source is credible because she gets opinions from doctors and writes about a boy who has experienced the changes and she doesn’t express her own opinions. This source will help me write about the different feelings a transgender teen has and what sexual experiences he or she go through. Ashcraft, C. (2008, Sept).
