Introduction 
 Apple Inc. was founded in California on April 1, 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak 
and Ronald Wayne. It is an American multinational corporation. Ever since it has been 
formed, it has taken a keen interest in acquiring and merging with (usually small) other firms 
in order to improve their products. Till date it has bought out around twenty-one small firms, 
obtained a stake in two companies, and has also made five divestments (all in 1990s). It 
generally buys small companies so that they can be easily integrated in the main business. 
 It generally doesn’t disclose its acquisitions other than the one’s which are big and 
their announcement seem to be important.
