Comparison of between S&P, Moody’s and Fitch:
Credit Rating is a process to evaluate the credit worthiness (capacity and willingness) of borrower / country or of instrument (like bond). This process is conducted by credit rating agencies. Different credit rating agencies use different symbol like AAA, Aaa, B, B2 etc. , to indicate the credit worthiness of borrowers. Rating can be for long-term perspective (more than a 1 year consideration) and short-term perspective (less than a year prospectus). The comparable long-term ratings of three main credit rating agencies are below:
