Diversity in teams is a reality , but can lead to conflict and tensions, due to lack of intercultural intelligence, dominant personalities, or poor decisions due to passivity of members who may succumb to group-think (Janis, 1972), or who may be biased and have multiple blind spots. ASSESSMENT 2 requires you to design your own organisational research project: MGT602_ Assess 2_Team report-presentation-2019-V2 MGT602_ Assess 2_Team report-presentation-2019-V2 Page | 2 1. Apply decision-making systems and techniques in a group to interrogate and interpret a range of data analytics pertinent to a relevant contemporary organisational challenge. 2. Evaluate those systems and techniques to support effective decision-making in organisations 3. Engage as a team to present your findings in a visual, oral and written form that informs and influences the audience to make effective decisions in organisations 4. Support your argument with relevant contemporary literature including major resources from within the subject modules. With guidance from your facilitator, form a team of 4-5 classmates by week 4. Diversity considerations may include: ethnicity; gender; learning styles; personality; decision-making preferences; work experience; first degrees; level of study (just starting/ almost finished); strengths; technical skills; values. In the first 1-2 weeks, share your stories, and diversity, and summarise these in a table. Review what elements support high performing teams, and how each team member will support the project. Prepare a project plan, and maintain records of meetings, actions (who/what/how/when). On a weekly basis, upload key points into your group space in Blackboard, and contribute to each weekly discussion forum as a team. As a team, brainstorm project decision-making challenges you have experienced in the workplace, and which challenge you want to focus on to demonstrate effective decision-making as a team. Imagine you hold key roles in a medium-large size organisation. You will need to nominate your roles, and explain the operating context of the organisation (industry, location, size, products/ services/ organisation. Challenges may relate to understanding your target market for the launch of a new product/ service; recruiting highly qualified staff; acquisition/ merger; operations; manufacturing; logistics; information systems. You will need to access a large publicly available data set relevant to your organisational challenge (Government Census/ polls/ surveys/ Google analytics). You will need to interrogate this data set- how were the data collected; how valid/ representative are they; how meaningful are they? As opined by Aguwa et al., (2018) Dick Smith might encounter the problems such as complexity of tasks and other uncertainties such as changes in the environment through the deployment of the mechanisms for processing of information. Especially it as badly as it seems to take place during this pandemic. The information is processed emphasizing the importance for processing of information for matching them and therefore provide the requirements for up-gradation of information processing capabilities. There appears to be a greater task pertaining to the uncertainty of the task. However, the processing of information has to be undertaken in an effective manner. Dick Smith should be instrumental in designing its structural framework for facilitation of information for enabling decision-making process for mobilizing a greater about of data.
It is with the advent of the big data and the tools that reiterating data has become more viable. Consequently, this will help Dick Smith helps in taking effective decisions in order to formulate a well-to-do business plan for the future. Higher investment in technology will help in gaining more and more returns of higher capability, which is in turn built by the Dick Smith for working as a mediator in the value creation for the business. The effective usage of the theories for the qualitative and the quantitative data will help in conceiving the tools and will extensively delve deeper into the matters for the development of the strategic decision-making.

Market Analysis
There were lack of skilled employees in the company. Since the company has been facing huge losses
The incremental revenue was outrunning by the decreasing costs and therefore led to the complements the organizational framework and the building of better services as well as products leading to a downfall.
