Assessment for Nursing Student There is a word limit of 500 words. Use your computer to total the number of words used in your assignment. However, do not include the reference list at the end of your assignment in the word count. In-text citations will be included in the additional 10% word count. If you exceed the word limit by more than 10% the marker will stop marking at 500 words plus 10%. Aim of Assessment: The aim of this assessment is for nursing and midwifery students to articulate your professional identity at the final stage of your studies. It also provides students an opportunity to understand, elaborate and reflect on their own journey through the nursing/midwifery program and how this may impact on their practice. Reflecting on personal attributes and commitment to the profession is helpful in developing a professional identity. Details: For this assessment, you are asked to reflect on ONE significant person, relationship, interaction, time, place, OR object which you have encountered during your professional period of study. You are asked to consider: How the significant person, relationship, interaction, time, place, OR object has influenced your professional identity as a student nurse or midwife AND how it could further influence your professional identity as a registered professional in the future. For the purposes of this assessment, professional identity relates to some aspects: Professional knowledge, skills, motivations, beliefs, attitudes, values, thoughts, feelings, behaviours, goals, and views of one’s performance as a nurse or midwife.
