The company consist of 14 employees. It employs one owner, one receptionist, one office manager, six drivers, one instructional technologist specialist, two billing agents and two customer service agents. Kam's Elite has been around for four years. It started as a company of three employees and now it employs 14 with a net profit of 200,000 dollars per year. The company has held a strong place in communities by being able to provide more than just a ride but companionship, a wide selection of listening music, knowledgeable drivers of the Houston area, speedy but safe driving service, and excellent customer service. The company is doing so well just from word of mouth that they have decided they want to expand the company. They have a plan to extend their services to Clearlake, Texas City, Sugarland, Alvin, and other surrounding areas that need transportation to the medical center. The Gap Analysis
In terms of the background of Kam’s Elite transposition business, the within
organizational structure seems to have some issues for not addressing
the employee’s
anticipations properly. The company has 12 staff working currently out of which, only office
manager is responsible to lay down the duties to all other employees. She has a great work load
which does not appear on the surface and she seems fine with it, however, to coordinate within a
diversified environment of working gives complications to single handling.
In other words, the office manager takes care of the field duties to the drivers, the
accounts section as well as she reports to the owner as well. This diversity of job takes her into
the position of multitasked professional which is not a good sign for the growth of the
organization in a cut throat competitive environment. The lack of division of work to engage and
handle all the duty related issues appears as the prime gap in company’s expectations and real
time outcomes.
The second gap occurs from lack of administrative hold which must be consistent in
order to achieve the desired sales based results. Kam’s Elite, as a non medical transposition,
lacks the proper hold of the CEO of the company. For the effective functioning of the staff, the
image of the leadership should be transparent and well within approach so that the matters
related to working, office culture and salary can be discussed directly in case of emergency. Such
things seem to be missing in the office environment.
