Independent and dependent variable:
Both these variables mentioned above are used in the study of quantitative and qua
litative analysis. Both these variable are important as one can be controlled by the researcher and the other cannot be controlled at the time of evaluation of any study for that matter. The variable that can be changed or manipulated as per the study is called as the independent variable whereas, the variable that is measured and is dependent on the changes done on the independent variable is known as the dependent variable. In the study the data that is collected is also called as the dependent variable, which is than analyzed as per the requirement of the study. It is generally said that the cause corresponds to independent variable while the effect corresponds to the dependent variable.
