There can never be single and ideal approach / plan / model for strategic planning of operations that is valid across all organizations and contexts (Heizer et al. 2017; Haksever and Render 2018; Bromiley and Rau 2016). Each of the organization as well as business contexts need to suitably customize approach that is ideal. The various models / approaches available include conventional form of strategic planning, issues focussed strategic planning, organic form of strategic planning, real time basis strategic planning, alignment model concerning strategic planning, and, inspirational framework of the strategic planning (Heizer et al. 2017; Haksever and Render 2018; Bromiley and Rau 2016).
