Introduction
This assessment task is the one of three tasks you are required to complete as part of this unit.
Student must read the Assessment Policy available at www.aischool.edu.au:
Some important information about assessment completion are:
· Students must attempt all of the questions within an assessment, otherwise a Not Yet Satisfactory (NYS) will be given. Unanswered questions will cause the assessment to result as NYS.
· Assessments that are not received by their DUE dates or attempted will be resulted as Not Attempted (NA) and count as an attempt.
· Students can only submit their Third and make Final attempt during Re-Assessment Wee in week 12 of the Term the unit was delivered.
· Students who have not attempted the assessments and as a result do not achieve a Competent (C) result for the unit delivered in a term are required to redo the unit.
· Students who are required to re-do a unit may have to extend the duration of their CoE at their own expense and that application themselves.
This assessment forms part of a suite of three assessments that you will complete in fulfilment of the requirements for the unit BSBSMB404 Undertake small business planning. You are required to complete all tasks satisfactorily to demonstrate overall competence in this unit.
Assessment Task
About this task
Assessment Task 1: Written questions

Assessment Task 2: Case study
This task requires the student to read a case study scenario on starting a new business and answer corresponding questions on business planning.
Assessment Task 3: Project
This task requires the student to develop a business plan including business details, goals, WHS assessment, operations, a marketing strategy, financial plan and contingency and risk assessment.
As part of any unit of competency you study, you will be required to gain the theoretical knowledge that underpins the performance of the job tasks you will complete when you enter the beauty industry after your graduation. This task is designed to provide you with the opportunity to showcase the knowledge you have gained as you have studied the unit BSBSMB404 Undertake small business planning. This method of assessment has been selected because it is a simple and effective way of providing evidence of the knowledge you have gained.
You are required to identify and assess risks for the fictitious company provided in the case study in Assessment Two, identify and plan for work health and safety responsibilities, develop a contingency plan, risk management strategies and a business plan that includes finance, marketing and provision of products or services to facilitate all business goals and objectives.
You will demonstrate the skills and knowledge to develop critical statements and goals, consider recruitment activities, undertake several analyses, explore product/service development, understand legal applications and insurance requirements, and develop several strategies.
