PROJECT TITLE:
The success of IT system
BACKGROUND AND CURRENT PRACTICE
What makes IT system a success and what makes it's a failure? It also has been deliberately referred to the ‘IT system’ here instead of a narrower phrase for example ‘software’, for two major reasons (Bano & Zowghi, 2015). Firstly, most of the technologies used in the organization is a complex combination of software, hardware, networks as well as other infrastructure. Secondly, the success of such technology is entirely dependent on elements that go well beyond the purely technical, especially human and organizational factors, but many other things depend on (Ghobakhloo & Tang, 2015). When there is talk about the IT system, technology and technology - there is much more than software. IT technology is equally important for IT success as software technology; and human and organizational issues are important because of technology. This is not to condemn the importance of software, is undoubtedly one of the most important elements of any IT system (Lip & Lane, 2014). The success and failure of IT systems can be seen in many different settings. They are in private business in public business and in the voluntary sector. They can be found in very large or very small systems. IT also referred to as Information Technology is the application of a computer moreover telecommunication equipment to retrieve, store, transmit, retrieve as well as manipulate information, often in the context of a company or another enterprise (Rodak & Silliman, 2012). In a business environment, IT defines it as "the research, design, application, development, implementation and management of computer-based...
