Geopolitical Analysis Essay, 6 pages50 points This analytical essay uses concepts studied in this class to: (1) analyze a specific case study of global tension within any region of the world, which draws in geopolitical influence from outside that region, (2) consider (give voice to) points of view of all parties involved, then (3) make policy recommendations for resolution of those tensions. Do not write in first or second person (no “I”, “me”, “you”, “we”, etc.). For example, refer to the United States as such, not as “we”. The end of the essay is not a standard “conclusion” – in other words, it should not repeat the main points of the essay. Instead of a summary, think of the conclusion as “analysis and “recommendations”. This position paper is based on active research, as evidenced by at least 10 academic sources (not “popular” sources that are easily googled, and no more than 2 newspaper articles). APA citation style should be followed, both in-text citations and bibliographic style. Essays not following APA style will be returned for corrections before being graded. Format: No cover page. Introduction
Discussion of this essay is offering a detailed analysis of the geopolitical issues that are present in Syria. The Syrian civil war is the ongoing war and it is recognized as the multi-sided civil wars. This war is occurring within the context of Syria. This civil war in Syria is fought between
the Baathist Syrian Arab Republic and domestic and foreign allies. In that context, it is noticed that different domestic as well as foreign forces are putting their opposition against the Government of Syria. Therefore, those foreign forces are also opposing each other within a varying combination.
On this purpose, the discussion part also offers a precise analysis of the Syrian Civil War, which created a global tension within the context of the geopolitical issues. Alliances, which are making their active participation within the Syrian Civil War, also presented in the discussion part. Therefore, the policies that must be introduced by the Government of Syria are also presented in the recommendations section. Presence of that process can help the Government of this region to reduce their geopolitical issues from the overall structure of the nation.
Analysis
Through the overview of the overall aspect of the Syrian Civil War, it is observed that it is an ongoing multi-sided civil war. This Civil War began in 2011 with the significant unrest in Damascus and Aleppo. Within this context, it can be mentioned that this civil war was started due to the increasing protests. The Ba'ath Government is fighting against the people of Syria who want to remove this Government for their corrupting operations. It shows that the rest of Syria was part of a broader wave of Arab Spring protests (Doganay & Demiraslan, 2016).
There are three major campaigns that drive the conflict, such as coalition efforts to defeat the Islamic state. Furthermore, ferocity among the Government of Syria and opposition forces and the performances of military operations of Turkish troops against the Syrian Kurds drives the campaigns of this civil war (Selby, Dahi, Frohlich & Hulme, 2017). This protest developed discontent with the Syriaan Government and converted into an armed conflict. The civil war, which happened in Syria, was executed based on the demonstration. Demonstrations that were undertaken within the civil war were like the demonstration, which occurred in other Arab countries. This civil war in this country happened between the Baathist Syrian Arab Republic and the domestic and foreign aliens.
In that case, it is observed that various domestic as well as foreign forces were opposing the Government of Syria. They are also opposing other varying combinations that are involved in this war (Casana & Laugier, 2017). The war, which began in 2011, was battled by multiple factions such as the Syrian Armed forces and the international allies. As is the Islamic State of Iraq, it took support from the countries. Countries that are offering their direct involvement within this war are Iran, Russia, Turkey and the U.S.
The American led interventions within this war refer to the delivery of support of the United States to the rebels of Syria and the democratic forces of this country. In that case, it is noticed that the active military operations led by the United States involved the militaries of other countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Jordan and Australia.
