Pick your favourite technology company. Go to its website and find the section where its press releases are published (usually in the investor or media or news sections of the site). These are examples of what is submitted to publications and media outlets for the firm’s PR efforts. They usually portray the company and its products in a positive light, since the company or its representatives prepare them. Now surf the Web or use other library research tools to find an example of negative publicity for the same company. Who wrote this and where was it published? What do these contrasting communications tell you about PR/publicity?
