Give the object a fast push so that it slides/rolls off the table and becomes a horizontally projected projectile. Measure and record the vertical and horizontal displacements of the projectile. Discussion questions: 1. Using only the horizontal and vertical displacements, calculate the initial speed of the projectile as it left your desk. [2] 2. Calculate the velocity of the projectile just before it hit the ground. [2] 3. Calculate the new range of the projectile if it left your desk with the same speed and elevation but at a 23 degree angle above the horizontal. [4] What to submit? Submit a separate sheet of paper with your full name and the following headings. This can all be hand written because it is mostly math based but you need to write neatly, start with formulas and round off answers properly. The significant figures will be based on the accuracy of your measuring device and the acceleration due to gravity (use 9.8m/s2[down]). Take a picture of your good copy and submit it as a PDF. Diagram and data: Draw a diagram of the set up and add in your measurements Discussion questions: Answer the 3 questions
