Introduction
NOVA Chemicals is a specialty chemicals manufacturer headquartered in Southern Ontario, west of Toronto, on the St. Clair River. NOVA Chemicals is a polyethylene (PE) manufacturer that specializes in high density and longitudinal low-density polyethylene. The manufacturing process starts with the delivery of liquid ethylene raw material to the plant via pipeline, accompanied by the manufacture of different PE resins (pellet form). These PE pellets are then sold to customers for use in everyday items like milk bottles and other non-carbonated beverages, drums, vehicle fuel tanks, toys, and household items.
The Indian industry finds specialty chemicals to have a high growth potential. As mentioned by Adimalla and Wang (2018), the specialty chemicals industry is distinguished by strong differentiated products and quality enhancement, smaller production units with greater versatility, and low capital investment. This industry relies heavily on customer service. It necessitates application engineering and custodial experience. Companies already present in or preparing to enter the Indian market have used creative tactics to gain a competitive edge, and strategic tie-ups are one of the most successful ways to do so.

As discussed by Yusop (2018), the macro environment involves an organization's external customers, suppliers or representatives, rivals and suppliers, while the microenvironment contains the various operating customers, distributors or operatives, competition, and distributors. The macro environment also includes cultural and social influences, as well as cultural and social, financial, and technology forces.
