PERSUASIVE MEMO
GUIDELINES:
Submission must be word-processed and uploaded to Canvas in a .docx file. Your submission should include all of the following
in this order:
1. Cover page, as per course package instructions (using APA link as rough formatting guide)
2. Communication Analysis (use your format)
3. Persuasive Memo – Maximum of 1.5 pages or 650 words (including headers)
4. References, following APA 7 guidelines (in-text citations and references page)
5. A2S1 Grading Rubric (available in Word format on Canvas) (Do

Choose one of the five prompts listed below. For the assignment, you can pick which organization you’d like to work for, e.g., Loblaws, West Fraser Health, Granville Island Brewing, etc. Give yourself a position there! Write a persuasive memo based on your chosen task. Focus on engaging in effective research and use of the three persuasive tools. Your memo can be addressed to your Manager, Femi Castillo.
Remember you are graded on making a compelling and persuasive case.
In this memo you are to consider:

● Problem Solving and Decision-making criteria
● Analysis of audience and purpose
● 3Rs of your research – recency, relevance, reliability

● Formatting to assist the reader

Your analysis and recommendation should be based on secondary research ONLY. Secondary research uses existing information and data, which can be found
through books, journals, websites, etc. You can refer to your chosen organization’s website for background information regarding their mission statement, service goals, and workplace culture, but do not contact anyone from the organization directly.

Inclusive brands:
you work for a sportswear brand (pick up a brand). The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged the existing marketing rules about customer relationships and building brands. More consumers want their brands to represent their values and advocate for societal change. Your manager has asked you to research how to build a more inclusive brand and make one key recommendation that will help the company embrace the responsibility to uphold its promises and challenge the industry standards.

Fitness customers' habits have evolved during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering fitnessindustry providers the opportunity to reexamine their value proposition and target specific segments. Your manager has asked you to prepare some research on industry trends and consumer behaviours and recommend one key initiative that will help the company to succeed in the following years.

you work for a bank (pick a company). Your manager has recently learned that when the board of directors has one or more women on the board, the bank is less likely to commit fraud. Your manager has asked you to prepare some research on the benefits of having women on the board of directors and make one key recommendation that will help the bank recruit and retain women to their board of directors.

Blockchain and cryptocurrencies:
you work for digital retail (pick a company). Your company prides itself on being on the cutting edge of digital innovation and supply chain management. Your manager has asked you to prepare some research on how blockchain and cryptocurrencies are evolving and can revolutionize business and make a key recommendation on an initiative that will help the company stay on the front edge of innovation.

Community impact:
you work for a food producer (pick a company). Your company prides itself on being a positive member of the community and is looking for different ways to make a lasting and positive impact on the local community. Your manager has asked you to prepare some research on corporate community involvement and recommend one key initiative that would make a local social impact on the community.
