Introduction
Purpose Statement: To persuade my audience to take a stand against poverty.
There are a lot of people on earth who don’t have enough food for themselves, no good shelter, poor health facilities and living in a very bad or poor health conditions. They are those people who live below the poverty line. For this persuasive essay let us first understand what poverty is. So poverty is a situation or thing in which people cannot buy food, shelter, cloth, education and good health care facilities. Poverty is the major worldwide problems we face today, and we can reduce or terminated poverty by taking the essential steps.
Poverty
People living in poverty are living on paycheck day after day. Any money earned is used to pay bills and support family benefits, while the rest is save for rainy days. Poverty is a main problem in today’s world, and people cannot afford the basic necessities necessary for survival (Shah, 2011). The poor often face crowded working as well as living situation. As a result, they are exposing to communicable diseases and infectious for example tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and malaria.
Lack of resources and moneyThese people have no money. They cannot buy enough food to raise themselves and their families. This continued malnutrition inevitably leads to deterioration in their physical moreover mental situation, which reduces their capacity to work (Shah, 2013). Without work, their financial situation continues to decline, and the crime rate in these cities will grow as people despair for survival, leaving only one conclusion - death.
The government should address its poverty problem by reducing unemployment, improving employability throughout the higher education as well as skills training, increasing class-based income taxes, and reducing household income tax policies. The poverty line is determined by whether “the total income of the family is below the threshold of the family” (Howard & Wheeler, 2015). Consider people who struggle to make a living and whose incomes are insufficient to prolong their lives or their health are caught in poverty. One policy that must be adopted is to create occupation that helps families and people get sufficient income and more to sustain their lives without having to worry about not being capable to eat the next meal. For example, President Lyndon B. Johnson’s financial Opportunity Act is an example of a promulgated policy. On 20 August, 1964, President Johnson enacted the law, focusing on the relief and elimination of symptoms of poverty (Kwon, Kim & Park, 2017). In the second chapter of law, it provides grants and loans to families moreover businesses in the low-earning areas.
