PDO engineers and technicians are trying to solve the problem of fouling in heat exchangers. With the more and more fouling buildup, the cross sectional area of tubes or flow channels is reduced. This process is unavoidable. With time every heat transfer system will see a reduction on efficiency, but cleaning the surfaces will revert the heat exchanger to its original efficiency.
1)Suggest two technical ways in which the fouling reduces the heat transfer rate?
2)Suggest two ways in which you can solve this problem chemically?
