To examine how the skills at the preschool level promote kindergarten readiness, it is important to focus on how the skills at the preschool level align with the expected benchmarks for entering kindergarten. To examine this concept the main research question to be answered as a result of the study is Are the skills taught at the preschool level in alignment with the expected benchmarks for children entering kindergarten? To answer this question the following research questions were composed. I am still working on the questions to make sure they are suitable to the main objective or purpose of the research.

RQ 1: what are the basic academic skills taught in prekindergarten and do they align with those taught in kindergarten?

RQ 2: What are preschool programs doing to prepare children for kindergarten adequately?

RQ 3: What differences exist in children's kindergarten academic readiness skills attending different preschool program types?

It is hard to write a research question. If you have chosen one approach (or both) and a research question that you will use in your written assignment, feel free to post them in this discussion forum for critique from your instructor and other classmates.

In my own opinion, it really depends. I found it somewhat easy to write the research questions because I knew the direction I wanted to understand and also the questions were intended to have any kind of outcome as long as I understood the reasoning behind job satisfaction.

"The intent of qualitative research questions is to narrow the purpose to several questions that will be addressed in the study. We distinguish between the purpose statement and research questions so that we can clearly see how they are conceptualized and composed; other authors may combine them or more typically state only a purpose statement in a journal article and leave out the research questions. However, in many types of qualitative studies, such as dissertations and theses, the research questions are distinct and stated separately from the purpose statement. Once again, we find that these questions provide an opportunity to encode and foreshadow an approach to inquiry.

  1. What is the impact of job satisfaction on retention?

  1. What is the job satisfaction rate in the industry today?

Q Why is job satisfaction so important?

Dear Paulette,
Good Day to You! I found your post quite intriguing and interesting. Basically, I co
uld gauge that your research revolves around skills developed in the children at the pre-school level. In order to examine the readiness of kindergarten it demands the skills at the pre-school level which is aligned with required benchmarks. I found your three research questions quite appropriate with the purpose of the study. For instance, RQ1 focuses on what are the fundamental academic skills that are explained in the prekindergarten level. At the same time it talks about whether it is aligned with the required benchmarks. Second research questions revolve around understanding the...
