Patient relates increased comfort levels as seen by decreased use of analgesics, increased activity and performance of activities of daily living, decreased complaints of chronic pain, as well as decreased levels of pain as rated on a scale of 1 to 10. • Patient uses nonpharmacologic measures such as relaxation therapy, distraction, and music therapy to help improve comfort and enhance any drug therapy regimens for chronic pain.
