Choose 3 articles that interest you from one of the approved newspapers below. These are the most reliable newspapers in the world. Our library has access to each of them for free. Newspaper articles provide a useful source of information, serving as a primary source of information about historical and current events. Some of the benefits of using newspaper articles as primary sources include: · Seeing how people viewed an event when it happened; · Providing multiple points of view about an issue, including a comparison of the United States and international views; · Permitting researchers to trace the historical development of subjects over time; · Examining issues in the context of their time (by seeing how stories about an issue relate to other stories, or by examining the type of coverage provided); · Giving a snapshot of a time period detailing how people lived, and what they purchased which is helpful for writers, playwrights, historians, etc. Because newspapers also contain commentaries or retrospective articles about events, they can also serve as a secondary source. Q.1 Comparison of Poor Communication to Commendable Communication
Communication is a
n art and an effective communicator is the artist. In each case communication must be crisp and on to the point with the choice of right words. A person should have a clear idea at first that what he actually wants and then should express his ideas or thoughts in appropriate meaningful phrases. Abstract words create misleading but sometimes-meaningful words also fail to satisfy all the necessary queries.
"I want water"
"I want a glass of cold water"
In both the cases speaker is giving meaningful phrases to the recipient but the second one is more appropriate to give proper information about what the speaker actually wants and so the second one is the example of Commendable Communication and the first one is the example of Poor Communication.
While communicating the speaker must be aware of the facts like - the target audience, choice of words, voice modulation, creating a comfortable ambience for the audience, making eye contact with all the audience. With balancing the above properties, an effective communication grows up and thus a speaker can avoid a poor communication between him and the audience. From the following examples, we can get a clear idea about poor and commendable communication between a boss and his employees -
"I want the report"
"I want the report by today and the first team to submit it first, will get a treat from my side"
Both the above sentences are clear in their own way but the second one is the commendable one as it nullifies all the misleading...
