Part I (about 500 words):
Job Post Analysis
Select a job posting (keep this post secure by printing or screen shotting this document,as a link may be temporary and will disappear if the job is fulfilled). You do not have to actually apply to this job, but rather use it to learn to manipulate the wording in your resume.
Review the lecture about choosing a job posting; aim high. If you think you could do the job with a few weeks of training but don't necessarily have the black-and-white requirements, you should take a leap of faith. You may also choose a job posting for a position (or internship) you are currently interested in immediately and may actually plan to apply.
In a a "short and sweet" and easy-to-digest format(use technical writing tactics as discussed in previous module), evaluate a job posting that you will use to help "tweak" your resume that you will createfor classover the next few weeks.Think VISUALLY.Do not just write a paragraph.Consider headings, font,bold/italics,bullets.Answer the following questions:
- What is the position of the job posting?
- Who is the employer? Give some researched background about the company.
- What are three universal skills or personality requirements suggested in the job posting?
- Where have you earned some of these skills/exhibited these traits in your academic/employment experience?
Part II:
write a question regarding the lecture, resources, samples,or assignments(see the attachment).Don't just write a one-line question.Expand,discuss,elaborate.A good individual post should be a decent paragraph(please don't make me count sentences or ask me how many sentences should be in a paragraph).Just make a nice chunk of discussion.
If you don't have a question, bring an experience, resource,or your own expertise regarding the lecture to the discussion board.Again, make a good chunk of discussion that fully elaborates on your piece of information.
Part III:
write a short response to the following posts.

Module 2
COLLAPSE
Throughout my job search, I found many positions that would be a great fit. Unfortunately, the lack of availability due to school, other than not meeting the education requirements, are the biggest obstacles for applying to a job. As of late, I have encountered a few scams on job boards likeIndeedandZiprecruiter, these ranged from Multilevel marketing schemes to simply false compensation advertisements. Looking for a job and taking the time to tailor your resume for the position of interest is time-consuming and can be disappointing when you’re not selected as a potential candidate. The job boards that I use the most other than Indeed, areFlexjobssince the companies are vetted beforehand, and now since I’m looking for a paid internship I useWay Up. Many of the job applications I fill are all management related since that is the field I have the most experience in. This year has been extremely hard and I’ve decided to focus on my studies instead. During the semester, I hope to learn how to properly write a resume and cover letter to make myself stand out from the rest of the candidates. In the business world, competition is fierce, and learning how to adjust your resume to every job you apply to makes all the difference. When working on the job analysis project, I learned how to analyze thoroughly the company I’m interested in applying to, other than that I’d like to know what is the best way to tailor your resume according to the job you are interested in applying to? Is there a trick to it?

Module 2 Discussion
COLLAPSE
This assignment made me realize that it is not easy to look for legitimate job postings. I know there are various websites out there that show so many different kinds of postings, but in order to put in an application, the applicant must like the position and be qualified for it. As for the qualifications, I looked at a lot of job postings, and I first had a feeling of “am I not educated enough”? But I realized that sometimes we just have to agree with some requirements as we may already have enough skills to build more on top of it. All in all, this assignment was kind of like an eye-opener for future research.
Example:
great post! I agree with you that having a resume that stands out from the rest of the crowd is very important. A recruiter told me that depending on your work history and how experienced you are, your resume can be two pages instead of one!
