PART B Montreal building project For this part of the final project, you are required to monitor and control a building project (FinalprojectPartB.mpp). The project is to build a 50-floors office tower downtown Montreal. Each floor has 10 offices on each side, or 40 offices per floor. The building is in rectangle shape, measuring 25 meters deep and 50 meters large. Each floor surface is 1250 meters square, of which 500 meters square are corridors, stairs, elevators, and bathrooms. We have 750 meters square for 7 offices of 100 meters square each, and 1 waiting room of 50 meters square. Each floor is 4 meters high, making the tower of 50 floors 200 meters high, with total surface of 62,500 meters square, of which 37,500 is rentable areas. Follow the steps indicated below for the monitoring and controlling of the project: 1 Set the start date of the project for (2020/01/08). Set Baseline, Update the Project, and Report the Project Overview (Date 2022/03/18). Insert relevant screen shots in your report. 2 Set Duration to 100 Days in Task 5, and Report Task Cost Overview. Insert relevant screen shots in your report. 3 Set Tasks 10-11-12 to 25% completed and Report Late Tasks. Insert relevant screen shots in your report. 4 Accelerate the Project by 30 days in the most economical way. For this, you should crash the activities in the critical path by allocating overtime to the resources for the task you want to crash. You should assume that any resource should not work more than 30% of their regular hours during any specific week. Microsoft project will automatically reduce the time for the task which you have allocated over time. However, Microsoft Project does not automatically allocate any “extra hours” as overtime work. This means that you can add over time to a resource, but the project cost would not increase as the system does not automatically consider this time with an overtime rate for cost calculation. You would need to allocate the over time hours with over time rates. Please look at step 4 in the article (https://www.tacticalprojectmanager.com/overtime-microsoft-project/ ) That shows how to enter overtime work. Any allocated overtime should be considered with over time rates. For this step, Report the Critical Tasks. Report the details of the steps taken to accelerate the project. Insert relevant screen shots in your report. 5 Report Earned Value Analysis (EVA), Identify and explain the Risks that you can identify in EVA and Gantt. Insert relevant screen shots in your report. 6 Report Over-Allocated Resources, Level Resources, and Report Work Overview. Insert relevant screen shots in your report. 7 Report Cost Overruns and Resource Cost Overview, Identify 3 Top Overruns. Insert relevant screen shots in your report. 8 In addition to the report, you should also include your Microsoft project file as (FinalProjectPartB.mpp).
