Part A: In consultation with your mentor select one infant or toddler aged23months or under who attends on a regular basis* andfor whom consent has been given by the parent via your Mentor Teacher using centre protocols for you to work with.Once consent if granted you should spend the first week of your placement getting to know this infant or toddler, through observation, in discussion with their family and in consideration of existing priorities and previous assessments of their key teacher(s) beforeengaging in a quality dialoguewhich you will record (preferably by video but if necessary by audio). The dialogue can take place during a routine or play.Part B:Critically analyse your dialogueand its pedagogical significance, or potential (and weaknesses) in consideration of infants and toddlers as learners in curriculum. Consider both verbal and nonverbal interactions, timing and a rationale for your engagement. Identify ways this dialogue is or is not appropriate against the literature (including the EYLF), what you were thinking at the time and now, upon reflection, about your responses (1800) words excluding references)
