Relational Databases
· The Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) is the database technology.
· There are basically many s
oftware packages that can be based on the Relational Database Management System and they are Oracle, DB2, MS SQL, Server, MS Access, Sybase, and Ingress etc.
· The software can be commonly used for the processing the data. In the relational model the data can be collected in the relations or the tables.
Characteristics of RDBMS:
· In the Relational Database Management System, the data can be represented in the simple logical construction such as the relations or the tables.
· In the Relational Database Management System each relation will give the set. So, using this we can manipulate every relation using the set theory rules like union or intersection.
· The data languages are the non-procedural language.
· The table can give the rows and the columns. So the rows can be represented to the individual records. And the column can be represented to the attributes of the object.
· The data in the table are basically retrieved and manipulated by using queries. The query can be used to the data language.
