Write a 250- to 300-word response to the following:



  • Describe what learning and leading look like in your educational setting or in the educational setting with which you are most familiar (school, school district, college, etc.). How are quality and capacity developed and/or supported?

  • If the “hallmarks of excellence” presented in Figure 1 of Sterrett and Richardson (2017) were modified to assess excellence in instructional leadership, they might look like this:

  • Models effective instructional leadership in the execution of day-to-day responsibilities.

  • Ensures that instructional resources are equitably distributed among students and staff.

  • Insists that adequate professional development is a component of every instructional initiative.

  • Demonstrates exceptional vision in leading the development and implementation of instructional plans.

  • Exhibits a thorough understanding of the role of instruction in education and can articulate that understanding to all related stakeholders.

  • Provides exceptional leadership in supporting curriculum and instruction.

  • Demonstrates curiosity and open-mindedness in considering emerging and non-traditional approaches to instruction to address traditional problems.

  • Thinks creatively and strategically about the long-term challenges and opportunities of instruction in the organization and in education at large.

  • Reflect on these modified hallmarks and provide a response to the following question:

  • How can you grow as an instructional leader while also empowering others around you to do the same?


Include your own experience as well as 2 citations that align with or contradict your comments as sourced from peer-reviewed academic journals, industry publications, books, and/or other sources. Cite your sources using APA formatting. If you found contradicting information to what your experience tells you, explain why you agree or disagree with the research.

Pose a question to your faculty member and course colleagues. Be sure to tie the question to the week’s materials.






PART 3:


Write a paper in which you evaluate the implications to quality and capacity of instruction staff in your educational setting for 3 to 5 critical areas. Address the following in your paper:



  • Identify 3 to 5 critical areas within your organization’s instructional systems.

  • Begin by re-examining your assessment findings from the Wk 2 – Signature Assignment: Assessing Instructional Systems.

  • Next, consider the opportunities you discovered from a leadership and systems perspective.

  • Finally, refine/narrow your findings down to 3 to 5 critical areas (e.g., priorities for strengthening instructional systems).

  • Evaluate the implications to quality and capacity of instructional staff for each critical area.

  • Locate at least 1 peer reviewed article (published within the last 5 years) for each critical area that substantiates the associated implications to quality and capacity. Include the following for each article:

  • An APA formatted citation

  • A summary that explains how the research substantiates the implications you identified






Your assignment should not exceed 3 double-spaced pages and must reflect proper APA formatting for all citations. A title page is not required.

    Instructional leadership
caters through the coordination of all existing members of the system and particularly in education; the role of an instructional leader undergoes various dimensions of this model. At personal level, throughout this course context, I have overviewed various factors related to instructional leadership and it has given me a wide variety of understanding related to instructional leadership. The focus at personal level is kept on developing the curriculum effectively by assessing the present needs and scopes of improvement in the entire system. The holistic approach of instructional model is applicable to have an integrated vision which inculcates the procedure required to bring in the desired changes in the overall system of education.
    Additionally, for me, the refined state of understanding this model has led to various conventional concepts; the role of educators in developing and assessing the expectations of the students from system is implied in this model. In other words, it is up to the educators like how they implement the current changes so that a strong future of the students can be built. The development of curriculum should be guided by the principle of providing instructions that are positive and capacitive enough to bring in the desired changed in the knowledge status of the students. In the light of the existing hallmarks and the reforms done, I can state that the articulation with the all existing stakeholders in system is one of the primary needs that need formal addressing. The stakeholders can be marked as the policymakers at government level as well as the educators who implement the expected changed in the overall system.
Part Two
    Based on the above approach and the changes in the hallmarking of the instructional leadership, timely assessment of the knowledge driven factors and the changes, as per the requirement of the present, is the core component of success.
