The aim of here is for quality, not quantity. Dot points are encourage to illustrate key points
with short elaboration where appropriate.
In addition, a reference list must be included citing all sources you consult.

This is an individual task. Due at the beginning of your class in Week 4 (Class A – 5
August and Class B – 9 August). Tutorial time will be allocated to help you prepare your
submission.
A penalty of 10% of the available mark will be applied for each day the assessment is late.
If the assessment is more than one week late without acceptable reason or prior approval,
your work will not be marked and you will received a zero for this assessment

Introduction
Knowledge society is the is the society which has a strong focus on creativity, innovation
and use of new know
ledge to enhance the growth of the organization with a strong focus on
creativity and innovation in all the area of life.
Human and social capital is considered to be important drivers for the economic growth
of the country. This is widely and effectively supported by knowledge management which helps
in stimulating the economic returns to the country or the organization.
Technological changes and innovation are considered as an important aspect in creating
knowledge society. With the changing technology and innovation, the knowledge society has
increased their contribution in the economic development.
Sustainability within the knowledge society is very important as with that they are able to
assure that the human and social capital are able to contribute to the knowledge society and
development. They focus on building the human and social capital with a focus on meeting the
economic, environmental, social as well as cognitive and psychological challenges. The
knowledge society depends on sharing and transferring knowledge.
Kogut and Zander (1992) argued that the persistence of a firm‟s capabilities is related to
the social fabric of personal relationships, which are supported by the firm‟s organizing
principles and structures. Firms are more effective than markets at transferring knowledge,
because they create a social community where knowledge can be created and transferred (Kogut
& Zander, 1993). The firm‟s organizing principles must support the social knowledge of
cooperation and knowledge sharing. Nonaka and Takeuchi (1995) proposed that new
organizational knowledge is continually created through an informal process of socialization,
