The 2012International Energy Conservation Code or ICC regulates the minimum energy conservation requirements for new buildings. Whether the buildings be residential or commercial the IECC applies these requirements to both. Also it addresses energy conservation requirements for all aspects of energy uses like heating and ventilating, lighting, water heating, and power usage for appliances and building systems. The effect that the IECC has on the construction energy is that it requires construction to be more green or efficient. It holds every building accountable for being at a certain level of efficiency. Whether it be what type of insulation is the minimum requirement for a house or a building or what type of lighting system should be used. There are many different ways the IECC helps push and create bore efficient and green buildings.
