The situation of both African Americans and Native Americans following the Civil War:
In the civil war the native Americans participated in big numbers either as individuals, tribes or even as bands and served in the military. The first African slaves came to America way back in 1526 and were used for varieties of works in America, they later took part in the civil war also. Those days’ racism was at its peak and hence both African American and Native Americans shared the base of the American social strata and experienced partiality and racial brunt, their lives were to some degree troublesome and oppressive. Both endured on account of the oppression and bad behaviour of the whites, however the local Americans endured more than the African Americans which led to the complete pulverization of their community as a whole. Close to one lakh eighty thousand African Americans served in the civil war on both the union and the confederate side. Native Americans were aware of the outcomes of the civil war and knew that it would impact their land holding and their economic conditions under the rules of the whites in the new world. The African Americans were also affected as they were made to suffer and work more for less as slaves. The native Americans owned slaves and were freed after the civil war but still faced considerable amount of hardships in the Indian territories.
