Papers should be about 1500 words. For each paper, choose just one of the topics offered. Papers should be double-spaced and single-sided, in a 12-point font. Please do NOT include a cover page; simply have your name, student number, course code, my name, and your TA’s name at the top of your first page. The papers must be submitted through the dropbox in the course OnQ website. As sources, the best idea is to use only the textbook and your class notes. There is no need to cite references to my lectures: we take that material as common ground. Quotations or paraphrases from the readings should be cited in-text, e.g. (Aristotle,Nicomachean Ethics, Bk II, p.5). There’s no need for footnotes or a separate bibliography.
State your thesis early and clearly; I advise that you start with “In this paper, I will argue that…” Happy writing!
