Introduction
Enslavement, the cruel, dirty, costly and inexcusable anachronism, which has ruined the World’s most protected term democracy are often the cause of the Civil War. The American Civil War proved devastating in the United States as it took away several human lives, destroyed the heritages, exploited the lives of several people and created a sense of terror within them. It was also the event, which caused the American states to be united. The 1850 was a particularly tumultuous time in the United States. This paper will highlight some of the events that propelled the United States towards the Civil War.
1848: The End of Mexican War: Compromise of 1850
Ethnically, the Mexican American population comprises of various diverse kind of people ranging from indigenous groups, some from European ancestries groups, or the mixture the Lebanese. Particularly the Mestizos in the Mexican population who mainly belong to mixed Indigenous and European American descents, as well as they are ethnically categorized for their mixed-race cast during the Spanish Empire.
The darker Mexican American usually experiences the harsh reality of the racial discrimination in each section, who are deprived from the basic facilities of education and thereby this leads to enslavement and unemployment. As stated by Carter, Lau, Johnson and Kirkinis (2017), stereotypically, the Mexicans groups are deprived from each and every section in society but still they present an unbreakable family unity and bond culture.
In term of gender inequity, the woman in this regard suffers the most, as they had to struggle with the ongoing process of the domestic violence and gender inequality on a regular basis. The Mexican woman are subjected in several forms of discrimination with no rights to take their own life decisions and are always consider to sacrifice for each thing. In this regard, the white Mexicans are given some spaces as of their color complexion.
As stated by Lopez-Alonso and Velez-Grajales (2017), the blackish Mexican group of women had to struggle to confirm the psychological and security safety issue in order to protect their families. Slavery issue is one of the main causes to give rise to the Mexican-American war.
The woman belonging to this group had to earn equally along with their man in order to earn more money to provide some food and other necessities to their children. As masculinity, overbeats the feminism, therefore the female is belonging to this group have to perform each tasks designated and ordered by their men who are treated as the father figure of the society. As stated by Bleynat Challu and Segal (2020), study shows that there was an inequality in the growth rate and in the economic development in the Mexican population and these populations are deprived from almost every field.
Mexican-American war existed between 1846-1848, due to the annexation of the Republic of the Texas by U.S and from dispute of whether Texas ended at the Nuesces river, which was claimed by the Mexican-American or the Rio Grande, which was claimed by U.S. the fight existed between Mexican-Americans and United States. With the end of this Mexican-American war, the America was ceded the western territory.
However, here lies the problem. Various questions started floating in the mind of these Mexican-American people, which as these territories will be granted as states, then will states be free from slavery system? Therefore, in order to end this slavery system situation, the Congress passed the Compromise of 1850, after this compromise act California was made free and allow the people in Utah and New Mexico to choose for themselves.
