Transgender is a state of an individual gender identity. It includes that range of people who also un
dertakes different medication including surgeries to bring the traits of the gender which they internally identify. The judicial system to many countries have come forward so that no discrimination exist against such class of individuals due to their gender identity.
What are some of the significant problems that transgender suspects face in the criminal justice system?

Some of the problems that transgender suspects face in the criminal justice system are:
· Where they should be place – Along with people they choose to be themselves or with the people of same gender as they are by birth (keeping health and safety issues in mind).
· Privacy and confidentiality- The confidentiality has been maintained about their genders but it has to be disclosed because special care has been taken for keeping them in custody.
· Physical and mental care –If suspects or offenders were undergoing hormonal therapy at the time of arrest, then the treatment gets disrupted and it can cause severe physical or mental disorder.
· Punishment beyond crime – More than physical harassment, the mental trauma and its adverse affects proves to be a bigger problem for the judicial system to tackle.
