ou must write a final report written in formal English that includes a context (academic context or industry context) for the work you have undertaken as part of the internship.

You may develop your own focus, argument, question or line of inquiry. You may also include (clearly identified) sections of work generated as part of a specific task or series of tasks undertaken during the internship.

You can discuss the nature of your report with your internship supervisor. Your supervisor may be able to guide you in the creation of your report or show you examples of industry related reports.

Key points to note:

  • Think about your reader / audience, to help you decide on the nature of your report

  • Think about the purpose of your report: what is it setting out to achieve?

  • Reports are often used to assist in decision-making

  • Reports will often identify problems, collect relevant information, and make recommendations to solve those problems

  • At times reports are used to persuade the reader to adopt an idea or a particular approach

  • The purpose of the report determines how the report is constructed.

  • Remember, you are writing for an audience not necessarily familiar with your discipline so it will be important to provide a clear context and to establish your terms of reference.

  • One of the differences between an essay and a report is primarily that a report often has a sense of
    purpose
(maybe within the industry, or an organisation, or a government body or an institution; or even within your own education - how well are you prepared for this placement?),Identify the purpose of your own report to help you structure and compose it.

It is important to note that there is no single way of structuring a report. Generally, a formal report will contain some or all of the following sections:

  • Title page

Introduction

  • Purpose

  • Rationale

  • Problem

  • Scope

  • Background

  • Theory/approach

Body

  • Method/Methodology

  • Results/Findings/Discussion

Conclusion

  • Conclusions / Recommendations

  • Reference list

Supplementaries

  • Appendices

Introduction
The following report consists of my experience during the time of internship in art and volunteering domain. This report gives the insight of the job requirement and measures needs to be taken to fulfil it. This internship allowed to me to learn about the functionality of the process of the industry, its driving force and barriers which can affect the completion of the job. I had learned about the implication what we study in our course in real life, specifically apply the psychological understanding in the industrial work.
Art and volunteering allowed me to interact with wide range of people who have specific taste for the artifact. This allows me to learn about the people choices and its relation to their existing personalities. I had observed and analyzed the fellow staff to understand their approach in completion of the work. All industries have customers in their center, my placement has no exception.
Key role of the internship
I had worked in the industry where my working domain was art and volunteering. My role as the intern is to assist the guest in selection of the artifact. My work is to guide the people about the art which had been on the display. Interact with them to understand their choices, to read their behavior so that I can guide them in buying the stuff they wanted and encourage to try for something new. My role also includes provide the thorough description of the art available. Apart from that, my role includes making set-up for the place, cleaning the material and notify the supervisor about the stuff which is booked for sale and material which needs to be replaced.
From the very first day, I was told that customers are our priority and their needs must be fulfilled at all cost. They must be felt welcomed and comfortable about their choices they made while buying the product. Our priority includes providing satisfaction to the customer. This can be best explained under the lens of the customer satisfaction theory. As suggested by Hult, Sharma, Morgeson and Zhang (2019), according to the customer satisfaction theory, customer satisfaction is a key indicator for the performance that monitors the level of customer satisfied with the organization and its product. According to the theory, customer satisfaction is a psychological state which can be measured by customers expectation about the organization or product. It can also help in developing customer loyalty.
As noted by Elbeltagi and Agag (2016), satisfaction is psychological state of mind which displays the evaluation of the relationship between customers and organization, product, or environment. Satisfaction consists of three elements which is cognitive, behavioral, and affective. The affective includes emotions in buying the product, cognitive includes evaluation of the product, and behavioral includes behavior towards services and products. Expectation and satisfaction are related to each other. Expectation is a belief that the certain product fulfils the specific need of the customers. If expectations are not fulfilled, the level of satisfaction towards the organization reduced.
Contribution to the progress of the project
I played the active role in completion of work given to me as part of the job. My main job was to facilitate the customers, so that I can earn their loyalty towards the organization. This was not an easy task. This is because gaining customer loyalty and increasing the sale of product can only be possible, if level of customer satisfaction is high. To gain the trust of customer and increase their satisfaction towards the organization. It has been...
