Due Date Wednesday 07th September 2022. Time Due 1400hrs (2:00 PM). Weighting 40% Length 6-7 minutes total Assessment Rubric Refer to Extended Unit Outline Appendix 1 LOs Assessed LO2, LO3, LO4 Task You are required to record and upload an oral presentation of a structured ethical argument, allowing demonstration analysis and debate of an ethical issue in healthcare. 1. Select one of the following ethical concepts as the focus for your presentation: a. Veracity b. Futility c. Confidentiality d. Consent 2. Briefly introduce and define your selected ethical concept as a general ethical concept in society (LO3). 3. Discuss your selected ethical concept as it relates to healthcare (LO2, LO4). 4. Explain why this issue is a critical concept for ethical healthcare delivery (LO2, LO4). 5. Discuss the ethical concept specifically related to your profession 6. Describe how your selected ethical concept relates specifically to your professional code of ethics/code of conduct (LO3). 7. Identify sources of ethical disagreement that relate to your selected topic (LO2, LO4) – Ground the ethical disagreement using relevant ethical principles 8. Consider the concepts of absolutism, relativism, and pluralism as a starting point (LO3). You can use references from the prescribed reding list, but it may be useful to extend your reading beyond this list as well. Age of References Most references for this task should be published within the last 5 years, however the appropriate use of older evidence sources (e.g. seminal theoretical ethical work) is acceptable. Assessment tasks that are submitted more than three calendar days after the due or extended date will not be allocated a mark. Example: An assignment is submitted 12 hours late and is initially marked at 60 out of 100. A 5% penalty is applied (5% of 100 is 5 marks). Therefore, the student receives 55 out of 100 as a final mark.
