Write a paper that explains what factors accounted for the tremendous growth in the American economy between 1790 and 1860. Below are some items to consider. (Please refer to at least two of these in your response.)

  • Changes in agricultural production


In your paper, relate the most significant impact of two or more of these factorsand how they helped transform the American economy as it approached the eve of the Civil War.

    The American economy witnessed tremendous growth and transition
between the years 1790 and 1860. The economy of United States of America was primarily an agrarian economy prior to 1790. Waves of industrialization hit the American economy and transformed it completely. There were massive changes in communications and transportation. The elements of industrialization in America between 1790 and 1860 acted as positive catalysts to nudge the economy and society to greater heights.

    The communications industry witnessed a dramatic change in the mid-1800. The introduction of the telegraph was one of the most essential push to the then communication technology. Before that messages were transmitted via pigeons, railroad and the Pony Express. In 1843, Samuel Morse, the inventor of single-wire telegraph acquired a grant of $ 30,000 from the Congress and built the line from Baltimore to Washington and thereby established the ground for telegraph communication.
