One of the concerns is the moment generated in the splice, point B. a. Guess where to place a distributed load to generate the peak moment at the splice B (positive or negative). b. Develop the influence line for the moment at splice B. The Muller-Breslau Method is probably the quickest. c. Identify where a distributed load must act to generate the largest moment at splice B (positive or negative). d. What is the peak moment generated at splice B due to a uniform distributed live load of 5 kN/m? e. Comment on why your guess in part (a) was or was not close to your conclusion in part (c).
