One of my son-in-law’s favourite sayings when presented with a beautiful plate of food is ‘The first taste is with the eyes!’ Certainly the combination of visual and olfactory stimulant information ‘gets the juices going’ in anticipating the gustatory delights to come. What other everyday examples of intermodal co-ordination can you think of ?
