While conducting an argumentative analysis there is two option, by which they claim can be justified. One method is the claim of fact where in order to establish the argument tone needs to make a nonjudgmental statement. This non-judgmental statement is based on established facts. On the other hand, the other method of establishing an argument is by evaluation of the argument. For example, launching of a new sandwich the factual claim is adequate in attracting the customers.
However, when an evaluation of the argument is required, in that case, the claim of value or an evaluative claim needs to be applied. For instance, in case of attracting adult customer, McDonald's needs to utilize their marketing division so that the commercials are evaluated such that it adds value.
Other than these two claims, according to the author, there is one more type of claim and is based on policy. In most of the cases, the claims are future-oriented explaining what needs to be done in the future. Hence, while conducting an argumentative analysis it is necessary to utilize the factual claim when there is one argument.
