HYPERLINK "javascript:Message.refreshTree();"EU Governance Comment aleana : Not only culture and diversity affect realization of a federalized Europe, but also the sense of sovereignty. Most countries have in mind that they would lose sort of their own identity if Europe becomes a federal union. On the other hand, the federalization of Europe is becoming more a necessity than a dream. The unification of both monetary and fiscal policies for all the countries on the EU will help a lot to start solving the economic crisis. However, this alternative has its cons too. We all know that every country is different in size, production factors, and conditions; and not all countries will benefit from unified policies. For instance, some decisions will have negative impact on smaller European countries than in bigger European countries. Finally, the political power will be bigger, but not yet stronger. For example, while the EU countries hold their own seats on organizations like the WTO, when becoming the United States of Europe, they will only have one. Comment abdulaah : It is true that every country wants to keep its identity. However, they should sacrifice in order to become a one strong country. I mean if you could imagine the US is 50 separate countries. Can we say that any state including rich states like California or Texas is politically better off being a separate country?
