Assessment instructions Table 1 Assessment instructions Assessment details Instructions Assessment overview The objective of this assessment is to assess your knowledge as would be required to identify risks and to apply established risk management processes to a defined area of operations that are within the responsibilities and obligations of the role. Assessment Event number 1 of 2 Instructions for this assessment This is a written assessment and it will be assessing you on your knowledge of the unit. This assessment is in one parts 1. Short answer questions and is supported by: · assessment feedback Submission instructions On completion of this assessment, you are required to upload it or hand it to your trainer for marking. (Delete any text you don’t need before you distribute this document). Ensure you have written your name at the bottom of each page of this assessment. It is important that you keep a copy of all electronic and hardcopy assessments submitted to TAFE and complete the assessment declaration when submitting the assessment. What do I need to do to achieve a satisfactory result? To achieve a satisfactory result for this assessment all questions must be answered correctly. What do I need to provide? USB or access to cloud storage, computer with relevant software and internet access. What the assessor will provide? Access to Plan2go TAFE NSW Virtual Organisation (logon via TAFE username and password) Instructions on How to Access Risk Management Standards Online via TAFECAT.pdf Due date and time allowed Fully online students should refer to their Training Plan for due dates, other students should refer to the Unit Assessment Guide for due dates. The estimated time for a student to complete this assessment is 1 hour. However, there is no time limit for students to complete this assessment. Students may complete the assessment outside of the classroom and submit to their teacher for marking. Supervision This is an unsupervised, take-home assessment. If you are unable to verify the authenticity of the student’s submission you will need to gather additional evidence to confirm that the assessment task was completed by the student. This may include oral questioning, comparison with in-class work samples, or observation. Any additional evidence must be recorded in the Assessment Feedback section. Assessment feedback, review or appeals In accordance with the TAFE NSW policy Manage Assessment Appeals, all students have the right to appeal an assessment decision in relation to how the assessment was conducted and the outcome of the assessment. Appeals must be lodged within 14 working days of the formal notification of the result of the assessment. If you would like to request a review of your results or if you have any concerns about your results, contact your Teacher or Head Teacher. If they are unavailable, contact the Student Administration Officer. Contact your Head Teacher for the assessment appeals procedures at your college/campus. Part 1: Short answer Read each question carefully. 1. Outline two techniques for identifying risks. Your answer should be a minimum of 20 words but no longer than 100 words. 2. Outline two techniques for evaluating risks. Your answer should be a minimum of 20 words but no longer than 100 words. 3. Using Plan2go or an organisation that you are familiar with, explain how the organisation manages risk, making reference to relevant policies, procedures and processes that are in place. Your answer should be a minimum of 100 words but no longer than 200 words. 4. Evaluate three areas where risks are commonly identified in an organisation. Your answer should be a minimum of 100 words but no longer than 200 words. 5. Refer to the Australian Standard Risk management guidelines AS ISO 31000-2018 and outline the purpose and 8 main principles of this risk management standard. Your answer should be a minimum of 100 words but no longer than 200 words. 6. Using Plan2go or an organisation that you are familiar with, outline the legislative and regulatory context of your organisation in relation to risk management. Make reference to any Acts, standards, guidelines, policies or codes that apply. You may refer to applicable legislation and regulations that have been provided to you throughout this unit. Your answer should be a minimum of 200 words but no longer than 400 words. 7. Using Plan2go or an organisation that you are familiar with, identify and outline three of your organisation’s auditing requirements relating to risk management. Your answer should be a minimum of 30 words but no longer than 100 words. It applies to individuals with a broad knowledge of risk analysis or project management who contribute well developed skills in creating solutions to unpredictable problems through analysis and evaluation of information from a variety of sources.
