Instructions to Student General Instructions: There are two (2) parts to this assessment task: · Part A - Simulated Stakeholder Meeting · Part B - Written Report Part A (Simulated Stakeholder Meeting) · Classroom students – will complete activity during class · External/Online students – teacher will provide further instructions · Follow detailed instructions in the assessment task. Part B (Written Report) · Students individually complete · Follow detailed instructions in the assessment task. Number of Attempts: You will receive up to two (2) attempts at this assessment task. Should your 1st attempt be unsatisfactory (U), your teacher will provide feedback and will arrange a date for your 2nd attempt. If your 2nd attempt is unsatisfactory (U), or you fail to attend on the date scheduled for the 2nd attempt, you will receive an overall unsatisfactory result for this assessment task. Only one re-assessment attempt may be granted for each assessment task. For more information, refer to the Student Rules. Assessment Criteria: To achieve a satisfactory result, your assessor will be looking for your ability to demonstrate the key skills/tasks/knowledge detailed in the Observation Checklist to an acceptable industry standard. Instructions to Assessor All aspects of the criteria will be demonstrated in the simulated stakeholder meeting and individual written report. Teacher may need to intervene during simulated stakeholder meeting to direct discussion. Bench Mark answers for the report is included. PART A Simulated Stakeholder meeting (Group Activity) Students will participate in a simulated stakeholder meeting. Your organisation has surveyed 50 clients on their experiences with your organisation, in relation to diversity and inclusiveness. Clients were asked to complete a feedback form and a summary of the data gathered (located in Appendix 1, at the end of this assessment). This information will be used during your meeting. You are required to role play, one of the following stakeholders, during the meeting: Stakeholder Roles: Union representative of staff- Edward Organisational director- Luke Staff team leader- Sue Representative of a key stakeholder group (e.g. LGBTQI, people with disabilities) Multicultural Issue Rep- Myself, Disability Support Worker- Locklan Preparation of role play for stakeholder meeting: Prior to the meeting, research the following: The perspective and responsibilities that each stakeholder role (listed above) brings to the meeting. Work practices that promote and foster diversity. Use resources located on Connect, the Learner Guide and the Internet to assist you. Meeting Purpose: Review and evaluate client feedback data, about your organisation’s diverse workplace practices. ensure workplace practices are promoting inclusiveness of diverse clients Meeting Agenda: Review and evaluate the “Summary of client feedback” (Appendix 1) Identify and analyse gaps in service delivery (in relation to diversity inclusiveness). Develop recommendations to work practices, to ensure identified gaps are filled. Develop measures to evaluate outcomes of new workplace practices to be implemented. PART B - (Written Report - Individual Activity) Individually, students will complete a written report. Your report will be written to workplace writing standards, in report format and contain all information outlined below. Your report will include: Report Title Choose a report title that clearly explains the purpose of your topic. Introduction This informs the reader what the report is about. It provides the background information the reader needs to understand the report. Headings Use the three (3) sections below, as your headings. Each section, must contain all information outlined. You may also use sub-headings if you wish. Section 1 - Client Feedback Evaluation: · Why this is being reviewed? · What qualitative and quantitative data was used? · Include a summary of the data from “Summary of Client Feedback”, in an easily understood way for readers (e.g. a simple graph, percentages, a table). · Gaps identified during your evaluation. Section 2 - Recommendations for improvement: Workplace practices which will be implemented into your organisation, in order to close the identified gaps in service delivery. · A more comprehensive initial consultation form with extra questions / wheelchair access or prams etc · Ask staff members feedback on organisation performance · Doors being attended to for prams and wheelchairs???? · Making the reception more welcoming to families · Staff using more appropriate language · Having appropriately written information booklets/notices/flyers · Having access to interpreters when needed · Ask staff how this are going · Company welcomes diversity in their qualifications, culture and language encourage diversity · 40% felt uncomfortable LGBT peoples are not catered for times need to change. Issues of concern are categorised and listed below. Quantitative Data Client Intake Forms: 15/50 reported, intake forms did not allow for sex and gender to be recorded, beyond male and female options 30% unware 35/50 reported, they could not remember whether intake forms allowed for sex and gender to be recorded, beyond male and female options 70% aware The Reception Environment: 30/50 reported, the reception was welcoming, comfortable and easy to bring children to 60% felt welcoming and good bring kids · 10/50 reported, they were unsure if the reception was welcoming, comfortable and easy to bring children to 20% unsure · 10/50 reported, they did not feel the reception was welcoming, comfortable and easy to bring children to 20% not welcome- no access pram/wheelchair Organisational Literature and Materials: · 25/50 stated, images used in promotional materials, were relatable to themselves and their families 50% relatable · 20/50 stated, images used in promotional materials, did not reflect their own families 40% did not reflect family · 5/50 stated, they could not remember what images were used in promotional materials 10% could not remember · 25/50 could not understand, information booklets and did not find them useful 50% - no interpreter services by workers, slang words · 10/50 could understand, the information booklets and found them useful 20% · 15/50 could understand, the information booklets but did not find them useful 30%- no interpretive services/low socioeconomic Qualitative Data In the general comments section, clients noted the following issues: Did not feel safe to be open about their sexuality There was no space to record same sex parents on their child’s information form Were unable to fit a wheelchair into the allocated interview room and an adequate alternative space could not be located Were unable to understand the worker’s explanations, as they used too many slang words Their child’s pram did not fit through the interview door They were not offered interpreter services by workers. Meeting Notes: · As, Multi-cultural Issue Representative invited by organisation to attend Stakeholder Holder Meeting to address the issues needed to be discussed and address by with other stakeholders. · The environment was not welcoming or comfortable to parent outside the normal male female orientation · 30% of people did not feel safe talking about their sexual orientation.
