National e-Government Sector Strategy AssignmentDue 01 December 2017Please prepare a national e Government sector strategy document. Please select a Caribbean country as the case country. You can define âCaribbeanâ in whatever way you want. You will then identify a Ministry/Department/Agency or its equivalent within the current government of that country.Imagine then that you have been requested by this Ministry/Department/Agency to prepare an e-Government strategy for its specific sector. The strategy will outline how best the Ministry/Department/Agency can employ ICTs to achieve its policy goals in the sector. For example, you might choose the Ministry of Health in Grenada. The resulting document might be entitled: âNational e-Health Strategy for Grenada.âOr if you focus on the Ministry of Tourism in Barbados: âA National Tourism ICT Strategy for Barbados.â Where such a document already exists, you must make reference to it and provide a justification for developing a new version. The document will be a maximum of 20 pages including figures, tables, etc. but excluding appendices, references and cover page. Please use a Times New Roman size 12 font âdouble spaced. Make sure to include all references using a consistent style. All documents are to include the following sections at a minimum. You are free to add other sections if you wish (while remaining within the page limit), or change the suggested order of the sections:â¢Table of Contentsâ¢Executive Summary⢠Introduction? Target audience, rationale for having this strategy, alignment with national goals for thesector, etc.⢠Current state of the sector? Including statistics, major challenges in the sector, efforts at reform (if any), etc.⢠ICTs and the sector? Existing ICT initiatives in the sector (if any)? Opportunities for ICTs in the sector? Major challenges to incorporating ICTs in the sector⢠Objectives of the ICT Strategy⢠Major Actions? Describe potential initiatives to achieve each of the major (note: technical descriptions arenot necessary)⢠Implementation Plan? Roles and responsibilities of relevant agencies? Possible programs and initiatives with an indicative time period⢠Appendices (if any)The better strategy documents will draw on themes such as e-Services, e-Participation, e-Administration, and other topics where relevant.Note that a good place to start is the national ICT policy or e-Government strategy of your selected country (if available). These documents often include sub-sections for the sector you are interested in (e.g., Health). Also certain sectors such as education are particularly important and so many countries will have ICT and Education policies, which can also be important references.
