USES OF APPLICATION & VALUES FOR “FORMAL RESEARCH” AND A “BUSINESS PROPOSAL” When comparing the two forms of reports (business proposals and formal researches) it is necessary to take note of the fact that formal research is a theoretical approach while a business proposal is a practical approach. (Bezerman & Moore, 2009) states “researchers have found that people rely on a number or simplifying strategies, when making decisions.” Differences: Formal research is majorly provided with funds donated by the public and various institutions of learning and a number of government bodies and is APA formatted. The conclusion is added to the knowledge pool in the discipline researched. On the other hand, some business proposals are by business oriented firms if the research results will benefit their firms in terms of raking in income and achieving the goals of such institutions. The business proposal sometimes has proprietary, an Executive Summary and an abstract. In most cases, the formal research points out specific roles that HR professionals can play in achieving the set goals of an organization. On the other hand, business proposal match the identified roles into various proposals whose aim is to solve HR associated problems. Formal researches are often based on previous researches while business proposals often tackle the problems head on with an aim of solving them. Proposals put in consideration conducted researches when creating problem solving strategies (Sekaran & Bougie, 2010). Results or findings from formal researches are usually verified by conducting experiments. On the other hand, business proposals have results that can only be seen after the proposal has been implemented. The results can either solve the targeted problem, or not. Business proposals, as the name might suggest, uses information obtained from the business itself.
