Early submission is encouraged. Topic You must select a case from the case list and find a news story about it OR use a personal experience that has to do with the law enforcement or legal setting. Then analyze it with three concepts from the concept list. Format ➢ The write-up must consist of three sections: 1. Summary: In a paragraph or two, describe IN YOUR OWN WORDS what happened in the incident. 2. Lecture: Show how the three concepts can describe some aspects of the case—for example, the motive of the perpetrator, the experience of the victim or the behaviour of the police. 3. Opinion: Write down what you think about the case. For example, are you happy with the outcome? What does the incident say about our society/culture/values? What lessons have you learnt? ** The examples above are examples only: You don’t have to address all those issues. ➢ The write-up must be between 350 and 570 words—i.e., the maximum is 570 words. Include a word count at the end of the paper. ➢ Submit a Word/PDF file via Blackboard. ➢ The write-up must be double-spaced. ➢ The three concepts used must be boldfaced/underlined/italicized. ➢ Include a web link to the case in your submission if you are not talking about a personal experience. You may use APA, MLA or any other documentation format. Evaluation Summary – using your own words to paraphrase the news story concisely 4% Lecture – correct use and identification of three concepts 9% Opinion – deep reflection on the case 3% Format – spacing, length 4% Writing – grammar, coherence, spelling 5% Academic Dishonesty The assignment will be checked by SafeAssign. Summary
Human trafficking is a severe crime and a violation of basic human rights. Millions of men, women, and children fall into the clutches of human traffickers every year (Hofmann & Chi 2021). Without going into detail about the case, the victim's father, notified the Toronto Police Station that his daughter Di Luan had been abducted by Mr. Kamlesh with the cooperation of Mrs. Manisha. A FIR was filed based on this information. Mr. Kamlesh was apprehended, and it became obvious during interrogation that he had deceitfully convinced the girl to come to Ontario in the false hope of finding her a job with the aid of her acquaintance Mrs. Manisha, who is also a defendant in this case. He also acknowledged to making a $1000 transfer to the victim's account. Mr. Mahendra paid $.1500 for the victims, and Manisha received $300 as part of the arrangement.
