Introduction

In this report, the strategic change proposal will be evaluated for the company Vodafone Hutchison in Australia. Further, the process by which the strategies can be implemented is also explored.
Description of the business
Hutchinson Telecommunication is one of the listed companies in Australia with 50% interest owned by Vodaphone Hutchinson Australia Pty Limited (VHA). The majority of the shares of Hutchison company is owned by the Hutchison Whampoa Limited (CKHH). The VHA company have been offering mobile telecommunication in Australia under the brand of Vodaphone. The company had been operating since 1999 where the HTAL was listed through ASX. In addition, in 2003 the company had launched its 3G services under three brands. By the year 2009 HTAL completely merged their operations with Vodaphone Australia forming VHA. Currently, the company has a customer base of 5.99 million, which has increased from a customer base of 11,754. There has been a consistent 0.2% increase in the YoY. It has been scoring one the leading promoter score of mobile network operations. The total revenue generated by the company is $1,738.5 million with an ARPU of $34.52, with a decrease in 5.2% YoY.
Strategy analysis
The business-level strategy that is adopted by Vodaphone Hutchinson Australia aims to sell more than one product per client which will assist in the convergence. This involves driving growth for Europe consumer and help in developing customer relations. In addition, there is a strong focus put by the company in developing its customer base. The aim of increasing the customer base can be achieved through cross-selling other products that are catered by Vodaphone Hutchinson. This includes, for instance, family SIMs, TV and broadband connections. In addition, as a part of the business strategy the company had been up-selling newer products and experiences which includes tired offers based on the service quality, high-speed service with services like mobile gaming facility and a larger range of consumer IoT devices.
