It has been stated by many that modernism is not just confined to the development of individual states but can be viewed on a global scale since it is supposed to be extending outwards from their origins that are from the Western nations and thus took over the world. What is tried to be stated is that modernisation did not take place in a vacuum or in certain countries only. Modernization traditionally has been seen as a transformation from a rural and agrarian to an urban and industrialised economy that took place in most parts of the world but began with Britain after which it spread like wildfire to the rest of the world’s nations. Modernization theory is the body of theories that gained prominence in the 1960s and 1950s and is related to understanding issues related to social and economic development while creating policies to assist social and economic transitions in countries that were so-called poor.
