Remember the Titans
Introduction
For this essay the movie chosen is “Remember the Titans” because I really liked the way
the coach Herman Borne guided and directed his team with his leadership qualities. This movie
is a great example of how leadership skills are used to generate best out of anybody. This is an
excellent movie to show that moral values are very important for every individual to follow. The
coach with his great leadership and motivational methods helped different race of people in
becoming good friends without any discrimination. The coach made sure that nobody followed
racism in their teams and everybody stayed together (Brown, 2008).
Plot of the movie
This movie is about a high school coach who fights for the stakes which are much higher
than the State Championship. This movie revolves around the time period of 1971 in which,
court forced a special order in which major high schools like Alexandria, Virginia were to put
together and facilitate for the first time in history. The white students were not very excited to
see the black students and considered them as their biggest threat. So to handle this situation new
coach Herman Boone is appointed by replacing old coach Bill Yoast. The new coach is not given
a warm welcome and is treated very badly by both the students and the staff. The students of
both the schools (black and white) follow racial discrimination and have very little respect,
administration or faith in each other. ...
