Most modern psychologists would agree with Sullivan, as evidenced by the many college courses in child development and adolescence. The case history discussed in the Appendix doesn’t provide much support for this aspect of Sullivan’s theory, but Sullivanians (and others) could undoubtedly cite cases that do. Some cases fi t one theory better than another, which is why I recommend understanding and using constructs from a variety of theories.
