More on profit: This is a continuation of Exercise 17. A manufacturer of widgets has developed the following table showing the monthly profit P , in dollars, at a monthly production level of N widgets.

a. Judging on the basis of the table, should the profit P be modeled by a linear function or by a quadratic function of N? Find the appropriate model for P.

b. Find the manufacturer’s fixed costs.

c. Determine the maximum profit in a month if the manufacturer can produce at most 1000 widgets in a month.
